Como Villa Project

The brief was to turn a standard tired 2 bedroom early 1980’s villa in original condition into a modern updated and functional space.  The first thing to be done was to open up the space by knocking down the walls in between the small kitchen and separate laundry. We then added large stacking doors to the back wall which instantly connected the interior with the back courtyard.  The kitchen was designed to enhance the flow of the room to the outdoors with a large island bench and table extension which further elongated the room giving it a real sense of space.

The laundry was combined with the bathroom which was a decent size. The use of different colours in the finishes delineated the room with a real contemporary feel and clever use of space.

Roller blinds were used on the windows to give the space a minimal feel and provide a blank canvas for the client to furnish and decorate herself.
